Module 9 – Communication for Change
There are three types of communication
Verbal – this is oral communication. One person speaks and another listens
Written – this is where the communication is read. It could be a letter, sign, email or txt
Non-Verbal – often referred to as body language. This is where a person observes another and infers a meaning. This can be gestures, eye movement, posture and tone of voice.
All of these communication types are important, especially when you are looking for work. By having good spoken, unspoken and written communication skills you can make a good impression – and are more likely to get a job over other people.
Good communication skills can be learnt. Continue to practise communication through reading and writing and by talking to people and listening to them talk to you.
